Meet Katie Fraser
We are thrilled to welcome Katie Fraser to our team as our newest Senior Analyst! With 18 years of experience working in university libraries, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Research Consulting. Her extensive background in research and her specialisms in open research, scholarly communication, information discovery, and bibliometrics make her a valuable addition to our team.
Katie is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic techniques. Her passion for relationship and community building is evident through her roles as a founder member of the University of Nottingham’s Open Research Group and former Chair of the Worktribe Research Information System Outputs Special Interest Group. She is also a Chartered Member of CILIP.
During her time at the University of Nottingham, Katie achieved several key milestones. She successfully championed the institution’s signing of DORA, developed services and systems to reflect changing policies from UKRI, Plan S, and the UK government, and led a team to ensure research outputs data quality for REF 2021.
I’m excited to be joining the team at Research Consulting, who share my twin passions for research and scholarly communication. I’m looking forward to using my analytical skills to answer some compelling questions, and hope to contribute significant experience and understanding of the current opportunities and challenges facing researchers.– Katie Fraser
